Opportunities From: Orange County United Way

Backpacks for Success! will provide at least 2,000 students in underserved and disadvantaged Orange County School Districts with fully supplied backpacks from donor businesses and organizations. Eligible K-12 students will receive a backpack with: pencils, erasers, colored pencils, crayons, glue sticks, paper, and other grade appropriate items. There are three ways that your business or organization can help support Backpacks for Success! Make a tax-deductible financial contribution today and we’ll purchase all the supplies for you! A donation of $25 will supply a child with a fully stocked backpack. Hold a School Supplies Drive at your organization! Please keep in mind that all donated school supplies and backpacks should be newly purchased. Become a sponsor for the Backpacks for Success! program! Sponsors will get special recognition on our website and on promotional materials.

Easy Open Food – Pop Tops (canned meats, tuna, Spam, Vienna sausage, ravioli, chili) Canned Fruits Canned Meat Canned Vegetables Dry Foods (beans, rice, pasta, macaroni & cheese, cup-o-soup, cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix) Personal Care Items (deodorant, feminine napkins, diapers, tooth brush and tooth paste, shampoo, soap) Peanut Butter Snacks (energy bars, granola bars, fruit leathers) Drinks (juice, bottled water, coffee, tea)

 

This holiday season consider participating in Community Action Partnership of Orange County's Hope for the Holidays campaign. Individuals and families can get involved in our Adopt-a-Family and drives for clothes, toys, and food. 

On a daily basis, volunteers work side-by-side to the beat of music packing food boxes that are distributed to hungry people in Orange County and surrounding areas.  Individuals, families, and groups of 80 can be accommodated.
