Who We Are

ADVOCACY AND PROTECTION

- Serve as advoactes for the rights and dignity of 28,000 residents in over 1,000 nursing homes and assisted living homes through the COAOC Long-term Care Ombudsman Program

- Save Orange County Medicare beneficiaries over $1.9 million annually through the COAOC Helath Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP)

- Assist in the Protection of more than $1 million annually on behalf of financial elder abuse victims through the COA Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST)

EDUCATION

- Provide Valuable resources and referral information to seniors and their faily members - helping them make informed decisions abnout the care of loves ones. Along with fielding telephone inquiries, our Answers, senior resource guide is distributed to over 71,000 individuals.

- Provide educational seminars for individuals and corporations. Over 50,000 Orange County residents have benfitted from our community presentations since 2011.

SOCIALIZATION

- Provide 4,000 hours annually of companionship and social support to isolated, frail adults through our Friendly Visistor Program and ReConnect.

What We Do

Dedicated to meeting the needs of our senior community for 40 years, the Council on Aging Orange County (COAOC) is a trusted    501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides specialized programs designed for older and disabled adults, their caregivers, and their families throughout Orange County, California. Centrally located in Santa Ana, COAOC is a dependable source of unbiased information about programs, services, and resources for older and dependent adults. Our visiion is a world in which older adults are respected, ensured ready access to solutations for aging challenges, and guaranteed protection should they ever become vulnerable.
