

Who We Are
Thomas House provides basic needs for families and assists them with:
- Case management
- Life skills – parenting, budgeting, nutrition, self-esteem development, legal and medical issues
- Employment counseling – write resumes, computer training, job search, complete applications, interview preparation, sources for business apparel
- On-site individual and family counseling
- Housing and transportation assistance
- Children’s programs – homework assistance, mentoring, arts and crafts, birthday and holiday parties
- Off-site child care
- Keeping parents and children together in an environment that will provide an opportunity for a new beginning
- Homelessness Prevention - Rental Assistance for eligable families about to be evicted from their homes
- Rapid Rehousing
What We Do
The mission of Thomas House is to provide a safe, supportive environment and the resources necessary for homeless families with children to remain together while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient. Thomas House assists families to become self-sufficient by:
- Participating in a program to maintain or seek-full-time jobs, budget their income, pay bills and save 80% of their income.
- Making short and long-term financial and person goals for a stable future.
- Securing permanent housing.
Our success statistics compared to the national average for transitional shelters is astounding: compared to only 55% percent nationwide 85% of our resident attain Full-time employment. Compared to only 20% nationwide 89% of our residents move from our shelter into permanent housing. We provide every needed service to ensure success. We provide each family with their own apartment, supplemental food, clothing, career counseling, therapy, budgeting and childcare so the parent can look for work and maintain employment.
