Who We Are

The Strong, Smart & Bold after-school and summer program was created to build a continuum of programs for girls by providing a strong and healthy foundation as they navigate through school:

  • I CAN! – Provides daily homework assistance and academic support to girls in our daily afterschool program at the Girls Inc. Youth & Family Center in Costa Mesa.  Staff also works with parents and their school officials to create a supportive network ensuring students’ success.
  • Operation SMART® - Builds girls’ skills and interests in science, math, and relevant technology.  They conduct experiments, meet women mentors and work with local college interns and volunteers.
  • Eureka! – Is a year-round program with a concentrated four-week, full-day summer program for middle school girls that focuses on science, technology, engineering, math, nutrition, personal development and college and career readiness.
  • Engage & Explore Camp – Are local & residential college and career preparation camps that include scholarship research, college field trips, learning about admissions requirements and meeting women mentors.
  • Externships – Provide on the job experience with Orange County top corporations where girls receive job readiness training and support during their externships.
  • Economic Literacy – Provides vital training in helping girls become economically independent by teaching them about money management, saving, investing and giving. Girls also meet entrepreneurial women business owners
  • College Bound - Teaches girls to identify educational requirements for college acceptance and learn about high school courses necessary to enroll in college.  Girls also receive counseling on admissions testing and financial aid resources.
