If you are a student looking to get involved for Global Youth Service Day (April 15-17) come out to the Stanton Community Garden and join other OC youth as we make improvements.
Duties for the day:
Fill in community beds with soil
Plant seeds in community beds
Create a gardening area for children
Assemble tunnel structures that will double as a growing structure
Assemble plant tee-pees
Lay weed barrier cloth under unpaved walkway
Place edging and DG over the weed barrier cloth to create walkway
By contributing your efforts to this activity you will allow members of our community more access to healthy foods. In addition, you will create a space where children can learn that gardening and growing your own food can be fun.
This activity focuses on our FACE 2024 Health goal: Increase the number of healthy youth in OC by one-third.
The United Way Youth Volunteer Committee is also seeking donations to help fund the project. For more information on how you can support their project financially please contact kautrinam@unitedwayoc.org. A text-to-give option is coming shortly.
All volunteers will be asked to complete this waiver. All volunteers under 18 years of age, will need to have a parent or guardian complete the bottom portion of the waiver.
Please note: when navigating to the Garden location be sure to arrive at location in the City of Stanton, there is an identical address in Garden Grove.
