Description

Join volunteers across the nation to foster literacy and enrich our local communities by reading to students at a local school in the Santa Ana Unified School District.

  • This activity will take place at multiple schools in the Santa Ana Unified School District.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring their favorite K-5 reading level book to read to a class and donate to the school library after the activity has concluded.
  • There will be 1 - 2 volunteers reading to each classroom.
  • Volunteers will be assigned to specific schools closer to the event date. This is so we may best allot volunteers according to the needs of the schools and classrooms.
  • An early RSVP is appreciated and will help to ensure classroom needs are met and groups of volunteer readers are kept together.

By volunteering at this project you will personally provide local children the ability to experience the many of positive qualities that reading brings, including reducing the dropout rate! In addition, you will also be helping to accomplish the FACE 2024 Education Goal: Cut the high school dropout rate in half.

Please RSVP by February 13 so we may properly allot volunteers to schools and classrooms. After your RSVP you will be contacted via email. Thank you for your interest and for making our community a better place for all!
